My last walk up Ben Vrackie, the hill that overlooks Pitlochry in Perthshire, was a much sadder affair. I'd just split up with my girlfriend at the time and needed to get some head space. The slow wander, time to think and stunning scenery helped me get some perspective on the situation.

Christmas Lights Switch On Acts Revealed

Perth & Kinross Council will begin unveiling this year’s line up for the Christmas Light Switch On at 2pm on Friday, October 13 on the Perth City Centre Facebook page.
Four of the acts performing on the day will be revealed on Friday.
The Perth City Centre Facebook page will begin a live stream for the first act at 2pm; images of the acts will be hidden behind a series of tiles and everytime someone likes the post a tile will be removed showing part of the image. The second act live stream will begin at 3pm, the third at 4pm and the fourth at 5pm.

While searching on the internet for the collective noun for booklovers this was offered up: a bookmark of readers. How very apt as this weekend Blairgowrie was the destination for visitors who enjoyed the book festival BOOKMARK 2017. A packed programme from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th October saw readers and writers celebrate a love of literature in Blairgowrie, Rattray and The Glens.
